E.Leclerc Vandoeuvre-Lès-Nancy

How can a store digitize its internal communications and *improve the employee experience*?

Through the testimonials of several employees at the E.Leclerc store in Vandœuvre-Lès-Nancy, discover how Steeple helped them replace outdated practices, centralize information, and foster a sense of belonging.

The *E.Leclerc Vandœuvre-Lès-Nancy* store

Today, the E.Leclerc Vandœuvre-Les-Nancy store employs 300 people, who are spread across several locations: the hypermarket, the curbside pickup area, the auto center, and the shopping mall (which includes a travel agency, a drugstore, and a jewelry counter).

Until January 2021, the store used the employee newsletter and a paper bulletin board as its primary channels for internal communication. However, these methods were not suitable for keeping all teams informed, as they work varying shifts (Monday through Saturday between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m.).

Implement ~new practices~

Previously, the store used several different communication channels:

- "La Gazette," an in-house newsletter in double-sided format available in the break room, which featured business, social, quality, and hygiene-related information.

- Paper posters pinned to the bulletin board or included with pay stubs.

As a result, the information was lost in the shuffle. After discovering Steeple at another store, Jérôme Renner, the director, wanted to implement Steeple to digitize processes, engage employees across the various store formats, and streamline communication.

*A digital transformation* and participatory communication

Today, every team plays a role in the company's communications. That's a real change! Employees are now connected; they enjoy talking about their work, share ideas they discover in other stores, and stay informed about what their colleagues are doing on a daily basis.

Now, internal communication takes place daily in both directions, and employees appreciate the tool's playful spirit, with its "likes " and comments.

Focus on what matters most: *people*

Since its launch, Steeple has facilitated the sharing of information and highlighted the work of the various teams.

Employees have the opportunity to connect with coworkers they don't usuallyinteract with—whether because they work in different areas, have different schedules, or are on sick leave.

The Steeple tool allows employees on sick leave or maternity leave tostay informed about company news and return to work with peace of mind, without having lost track of what's going on.

Foster a *sense of belonging*

A spirit of dialogue and closeness has developed between employees and management.

Today, posts are a regular part of the teams’ daily routine: for example, department managers highlight new products or photos of end-cap displays, while support staff share information about special payments of profit-sharing and incentive bonuses or adjustments to the value of meal vouchers.

The Communications Department, for its part, publishes profiles of new employees. All departments can publish content!
